Party on Senshuraku

All rikishi are fine!

Message from 28.09.2006
Dear Kaishoryu,
it was a high jump to Makushita last time and therefore quite difficult to reach a KK. I saw every fight of you and you really looked good. So next time you will surely achieve KK!.

Dear Kaisenryu,
you made a fine basho and I congratulate for reaching KK. I'm sure you will steadily go up the ranks.

Dear Kainohama,
this was really a great basho for you, 6:1!! Congratulations! You will make a big jump and I'm looking forward to hear about your results in Kyushu.

Dear Kaishinho,
I hope you recover soon and can do keiko again and have a fine basho in Novembre in Kyushu!

Dear Kaisei,
good luck to you for your first basho in Novembre, I'm sure you will do fine.

Dear Kainowaka,
as you are my favourite, I was really happy to see your 5 straight wins in the basho. So the german chocolate might have worked ;-). I think you will be fighting again in Makushita in Kyushu, so I will cross my fingers again for you!

Martina from Germany

From Tomozuna-Beya 26.09.2006

Kainowaka did win on Senshuraku!  He got 5 winnings and will go back to Makushita most likely in November!!!

Many fans and supporters came to our party on Senshuraku.  Kaio, of course, attended.

People said, “There is no fun to watch sumo without Kaio.”  Kaio and his sumo must revive in November!

It is holiday this week for rikishi.  Everyone is relaxed and refreshed!

The pictures of the party will upload this page sometime soon.

From Tomozuna-Beya 23.09.2006

Time has past fast; tomorrow is Senshuraku.

Kainohama achieved his ambition as he aimed before the basho – 6 winnings!  It resulted in 6-1.  If he won yesterday, he would be the best winner of Jonokuchi…mmm…

Kaisenryu needed one more win to achieve his aim.  It resulted in 4-3 … Kachikoshi, anyway!!

Kaishoryu couldn’t get enough finishing this basho with 2-5, but he thinks it was a good basho for him; he got some positive idea and sumo-sense for the next basho.

Kainowaka will have one more bout on Senshuraku.  We want him to win the bout for the finale of this basho!!!

Kaio occupies himself with treatment of his lower back.

Kaishinho's eye is recovering well.  He wants to participate Kyushu basho - definately!!

<About Asa-geiko Kengaku – your Visitation to our Morning Keiko Session>

Everyone is welcome to our Asa-geiko (Morning Keiko session); however, please send us an email to confirm with us in advance. We might not be able to let you in without any confirmation in advance.  There are “jungyo” and “de-geiko = keiko in another stable” and we might not be in our stable.

Message from 21.09.2006
Hi,
I will be in Tokyo in the beginning of November and was wondering how I could go about viewing one of the morning sessions at the stable? Please let me know if this is possible during our visit, since we will not be there during the Annual Sumo Tournament.

Thank you,

Christabelle

Kaishoryu got the first of this basho!!!

Applaud and cheer “Kaishoryu” to the echo in the Kokugikan!

So happy!!

 (From Tomozuna-Oyakata)

I attended NHK BS sumo-televising as a commentator today.  The themes are “Professionalism” and “Sumo fitting their own bodies”.  I made comments following these themes watching sumo bouts of Makushita and below ranks.  While I was making some comments, I felt these themes are very profound and I continuously research about them.

From Tomozuna-Beya 16.09.2006

As most of you might have known by now that Kaio decided “Kyujo” from today for the rest of this basho.

His condition was not so bad before the basho, therefore, this “kyujo” is unexpected fact indeed… He has been struggling to take his best physical condition back; however, his physical condition has gotten worse… In fact, he couldn’t do his sumo at all.  We apologize all of you for this happening….

He will fight in Kyushu-basho.  He doesn’t think about his “intai=retirement” YET!!  He has always got over his kadoban; he has come back from the edge.  So, the next Kadoban must be the same as long as his fighting spirits is still high.

Kainohama got ☆☆☆☆ Kachikoshi today!

Kainowaka  ☆☆ He is getting fine!!

Kaishoryu got....★・・Makekoshi...He had a bad injury two years ago... He took an operation, then, has taken rehabilitation.  Finally, he got "zensho = win all bouts" last basho and came back to this position.  He hasn't got this basho yet, but he fights meaningfully.

Kaisei will have “Shin-jo-shusse-hirou” (= He is announced as “professional sumo wrestler” officially, then, his record will start keeping as official record from the next basho.) tomorrow.

Message from 16.09.2006
GO KAIO!

Please Kaio,  recover very quickly and let us see your magnificent sumo again in Kyushu !

Catherine ( France )

Dear Kaio-zeki

We learn today that you are kyujo for this basho.
And that you will decide with your Oyakata if you will announce your Intai or not before the next Kyushu basho.

So maybe this Kyushu Basho will be your last tournament. You will decide. And your decision will be the good one. No matter If you continue or not, all your fans will agree and respect your choice.

In front of your family, your friends, your fans from Nogata, your fans from the Kyushu island, your fans from Japan, your fans from all-around the world... I'm sure that you will enjoy the 15 days and 15 fights of this Basho.  Enjoy ... and why not (I'm sur you can do it !) win your sixth yusho ;-)
Just a desire : I hope that If you want to retire as a sekitori, you will retire after the Kyushu, not before !

And If you want to continue one more year... and more...  of course we'll always be present to support you :-)

Best wishes,
Kaioooooooooooooo....for ever

Kainowaka got his first this basho!!

Kaishoryu was putting up a good fight….but

Kaiseiryu’s condition is getting strong and

Kaisei couldn’t get one more win…. He fights again tomorrow.  Today was his third day of his professional bouts.  He first went to Kokugikan by himself, took his bout and came back safely!

Kaio is struggling to grasp the “lead” for his winning race…  The “lead” which unites his body and soul….believing himself… He never give up even if whatever people are whispering!!.  So…. Please be with him even wherever you are!!

From Tomozuna-Beya 11.09.2006

Aki-basho2006 started...

Everyone is nervous on the first day of each basho – somehow… or, even a little bit…- although they have experienced it so many times.  The important thing is the harmony between body and soul.

Kaio might have thought something too much, or might have been too careful to get his winning….  If he only can concentrate to win against the opponent just in front of himself everyday…, then, his engine starts for his winning race…believing himself!

Kainohama got his fighting spirits back with his first winning yesterday after two basho’s absence.  He is now “seniour” to Kaisei; he has guts as “seniour”!

Everybody must move forward for their winning races because they did everything that they could do before the basho.

Go, Go, and GO!

Kaishinho got out of a hospital.  He concentrates to have treatments to recover completely.

Please tell Kaishinho that I hope he recovers quickly and is in good health as soon as possible.

Also, to Kaio, I send all my best hopes for Aki. There are a number of virtual Sumo games online that many of us play and I will be choosing you for my teams. I know you will have a great Basho.

From Tomozuna-Beya 07.09.2006

Very busy……

On the 1st and 2nd, there was a “Rengo-geiko”.  “Rengo geiko” is that rikishi belongs to “the clan” do “keiko” together. Tomozuna-beya belongs to “Isegahama-Tatsunami Clan”. Therefore, Kaio and Kishoryu went to Miyagino-beya and others went to Oshima-beya for their keiko.  Kaio seems to be in good condition doing keiko and careful treatment!

On the 3rd, Tamagaki-oyakata and Kaisenryu went to Chiba prefecture to popularize “sumo-exercise = sumo-aerobics”. On the same day, Kainohama and Kaisei participated a Brazilian Festival which was held in Tokyo. They seemed to have a good time.

On the 4th, there was a “Soken”. “Soken” is a “keiko” which is demonstrated to official supporters.  The main observers must be members of “Yokozuna deliberative body”.   Kaio and Kaishoryu participated.

We have unfortunate news…. Kaishinho will take an operation for his left eye.  His eye’s situation is not so good, therefore, the operation must take place urgent – he cannot wait until the aki-basho ends…  Today is his operation… We hope everything will be fine for him.  He will return from a hospital on 10th and will rest up for a while…

Three days to go for Aki-basho!  We will be waiting for your cheering messages!!

I just want to tell you that in the new issue of the spanish sumo bulletin, the Tomozuna beya english website is our recommended website of this month. I think it has been a great idea to make this site in english for all the non japanese speaker fans all over the world and that's why we decided to recommend it to all our readers. It will be great if the rest of the heya will follow Tomozuna in this.

To Ozeki Kaio

I am French sumo fan and I am following your career since 1998. A few months ago, I read your interview in « Le Monde du Sumo ». It was very interesting for non-japanese speakers like I because there are so few informations about rikishis and sumo in general in other languages ! I am very happy to get more « fresh news » thanks to the new internet site of your Heya. I hope you will do a good Aki basho. I admire your power : I love when you do uwate-nage ! It is so impressive ! Some other rikishis are impressive too, but I prefer your style.

You have all my support for Aki Basho, and my father's too (he cannot send e-mails to you because he is on holiday and there is no Internet where he went !). I wish you Luck.

Alice Koechlin, Saint-Etienne (France, Western Europe).

Dear Kainohama

I have missed you on the dohyo for the last few basho. How are you and when do you think you'll be back? I miss cheering for you at honbasho.I hope whatever is wrong, that you are recovering well.

Barbara in New York City

Go ahead Kaio, once again.

You will have my support for the upcoming basho.

You, Ricardo Sugano and Kainohama, because they are brazilian and I am Portuguese.

I wish you all the best.

Manuel Forjaz from Portugal
