Yobidashi Yusuke resigned on the other day all of sudden…

He had been doing good job and everybody had looked forward to his yobidashi career.
He demonstrated a good voice (Yobiage) at the senshuraku party of Natsubasho, but, one day, we received his resignation.

We discussed with him what's the reason for his decision, but we still don’t know what exactly is the reason …

Yesterday, the last group went to Nagoya. They rode on the “Sumo train”. The train is not a special train for rikishi, but, we call it sumo train because so many rikishi ride on the train to go to the basho.

Yesterday, an advanced group departed to Nagoya. The leader is Kaisenryu.

He was a bit concerned about his duty… if he would be able to do everything right… …yes, he
will manage everything!

And after that he will be more confident in everything than ever before…! smile.gif

On the 24th, the cargo was sent to Nagoya in advance. You can see our rikishi
are working to load….

On the 18th of June it was Kainohama’s birthday!!

He asked for a Carbonara pizza.

Many visitors have come to our heya to watch keiko in June. Group of University students and High School Students from America, NGO/NPO for disabled people, travellers from overseas…. We are happy if they learn something from our keiko and enjoy watching it. But… there was an accident yesterday, one of visitors went down to the dohyo…

We were all shocked!!! It is sometimes dangerous to go down towards the dohyo, so please stay quiet and stay at your seat to watch keiko…

Onion Soup

On the other day, we made onion soup… we call it “Chanko” as well… well, as you know “The food for Rikishi” is called “Chanko”. Who cooked it??? Of course, our rikishi cooked it.

Fry up sliced onion and garlic

Makes soup with chicken

Put the onion and garlic into the soup

Doesn't it look good?

Kaio and Kaisenryu came back to Japan safely yesterday evening.
Kaio was interviewed much but it seems not yet to be used….(>_<)
It is good, anyway, that they are fine!
They already started keiko this morning!

Injuries…..

Kaishoryu: He got an operation on his knee just before the basho because the bolt which was in his knee for his last injury (a few years ago) came to surface and started making a bad pressure on his knee. So, the bolt was removed.
It was very hard basho for him at Natsubasho.
He joined a high school (for adults education) from this April. It’s been about 15 years since he left school.
So he now studies and he does keiko…, which he enjoys … This life style gives him a different environment for his sumo. It seems to be a very good opportunity to meet new company as well.

Kainohama: His ligament on his knee was no problem – which all of us assured… Still, it takes time to recover from this injury completely, but he does his rehabilitation daily.

Kainofuji: He got an injury of his neck just before natsu-basho, but he participated in the basho and completed with Kachikoshi. After his second bout, Tomozuna-oyakata asked him if he would be able to continue this basho…
He smiled and answered, “Yes, I will.” He got his result with guts!! Now his neck is ok.

And…!!! Kaio and Kaisenryu went to LA today for jungyo!

Message from the Wakai-shu.

Kaishoryu: I had two subjects about my sumo in Natsu-basho. One is to win quickly, another is to do “Tsukihanashi”.
I want to brush up my “tsukihanashi”.

Kaisei: I wasn’t nervous even it was my first appearance in Makushita in Natsubasho, and I could do my sumo. I will learn more sumo and I want to get kachikoshi again in Nagoya.

Kainowaka: It was good sumo when I won and it was very bad when I lost at Natsu-basho… I aim Kachikoshi again in Nagoya and will get back to Makushita! Thank you for your support!

Kaishinho: I could do my sumo for the first half, however, after I got three continuous wins, I lost my concentration, I think.
I aim to get kachikoshi in Nagoya!

Kaisenryu: It was a bad basho for me… I brush up my “Oshi” and “Ottsuke” and aim Kachikoshi in Nagoya.

Kainohama: I got Kachikoshi with four straight wins, however, I got injured during my fifth bout…. I am doing rehabilitation at this moment…. I believe I will recover from my injury for Nagoya and I will do my best there!

Kainomiya: I learned about my bad habit in sumo from the bouts I lost. I will adjust them and try my best in Nagoya.

Kainokura: My bad habit – try to get the mawashi and try to through unnecessarily – ruined my sumo in the second half of Natsubasho. I will concentrate on moving forward on the dohyo in Nagoya.

Kainoryu: I think I lost concentration in the 2nd half of Natsubasho. I will keep my concentration for all 7 bouts next basho.

Kainofuji: I couldn’t be satisfied by my sumo due to my injury, however, I could concentrate on each bout.
I will recover from my injury until next basho and aim kachikoshi again!

Today, there was a sumo-tournament at the Kokugikan. Kaio reached the semi-final.
